Barcelona flop Martin Braithwaite has walked out of the Espanyol hotel without any notice. The player does not seem to be interested in playing for the club after it got relegated to the Spanish second-tier league.
It seems he was not interested in playing for Espanyol again, and he left the club pre-season.
Although there was no agreement from the club that he could leave even though he does not want to play in La Liga 2.
It has been a weird year for the Danish player, who is best known for having a failed spell at English Championship side Middleborough.
After that, he took his career to La Liga, playing for Leganes, where he had a good time, which led to Barcelona signing the striker as an emergency backup.
His time at Nou Camp was not particularly successful at that time, although he was one of the richest in the club.
Last season, the club wanted to get rid of him, but he did not have the desire to leave, despite Barcelona fans booing him during the preseason.
After that, he eventually left for Barcelona’s local rival, Espanyol, but his football career on the other side of Catalonia had been poor.
Currently, he is under contract until 2025, so he will need someone to buy him or make sure the team releases him before the end of the transfer window.
However, there is no interest from another team for the Danish striker, which totally means he is stuck with Espanyol for the next two years.
He has other options, including considering retirement just to avoid playing in the second division of La Liga.
The club would need to replace him as Luis Garcia’s side looks to return to La Liga. However, Espanyol had offered him to Osasuna in exchange for Kike Garcia.
Garcia is not a guaranteed starter for Osasuna, which has two players. Jagoba Arrasate also has Chimy Avila and Ante at their disposal.
