Manchester United’s new player, Mason Mount, is the new number 7 for the Red Devils after completing his move from Chelsea.
On July 5, 2023, Manchester United announced Mount as the club’s new signing after weeks of negotiations with the club.
It initially remained a mystery as to what squad number it was, but it has now been revealed that he will put on the legendary number 7 cloth that was worn by the biggest Manchester United legend.
When he was first announced as the new Manchester United player, he was not given a number at his first game as a Manchester United player.
Players like Eric Cantona, Cristiano Ronaldo, Bryan Robson, David Beckham, and many more How the cloth has not flourished in the hands of Alexis Sanchez, Memphis Depay, and Antonio Valencia.
Many fans thought there would be a change in the number of shirts. The fans were looking forward to Raphael Varane picking the number 4, and the number 19 goes to Mount, which he wore at Old Trafford.

A lot of people also thought that Alejandro Garnacho would be upgraded from number 49 to number 7 and would take his rightful place as the successor to Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, the young Argentine, who signed a new contract last month, will now have to keep his current squad number or find a different one.
In the 1950s, the number 7 was worn by Dennis Viollet. In the 1960s, the famous shirt was worn by George Best.

Best is perhaps the most iconic wearer of the shirt at Old Trafford in an era before players had specific squad numbers given to them.
