Atletico Madrid Are Expected to Sign Chelsea Defender César Azpilicueta

Atletico Madrid is reportedly expected to finalize the deal that will bring Spanish right-back Cesar Azpilicueta to Madrid before the end of the transfer window.

According to the transfer guru, Fabrizio Romanio, he claimed that Cesar Azpilicueta had agreed personal terms with Atletico Madrid and would sign the contract in the coming days.

The deal is for two years with the option of extension. The Atletico Madrid deal will help Azpilicueta be closer to his family. It is totally different from Chelsea’s offer of 12 months.

The Chelsea legend was linked to Barcelona last season, but he was convinced to spend his 11th season at the club due to Todd Boehly and the other Chelsea owner.

Last season, he signed a new deal with Chelsea. However, his qualities have been recognized behind the scenes. Azpilicueta made 16 starts and nine substitutes in all competitions last season.

With Mauricio Pochettino being appointed Chelsea boss, there were scenarios where the Argentine was going to the defender at Stamford Bridge.

Instead, both Pochettino and the club’s hierarchy have respected Azpilicueta’s status, making the versatile defender a club legend who has made 508 appearances in all competitions by allowing him to take on a new challenge elsewhere.

Azpilicueta Wife

Adriana Guerendiain is the spouse of Cesar Azpilicueta. They have been together since 2008 after meeting in their birthplace of Zizur Mayor, Spain.

Their marriage took place in June 2015, and the couple now has three kids: two daughters named Martina and Carlota, as well as a son named Azpi Jr.

Adriana, a stay-at-home mother, assists her husband in running his social media profiles. She frequently attends her husband’s football games and is a fervent supporter of his career.
