Arsenal center back Rob Holding is currently holding talks with Turkish giant Besiktas over a loan move at the end of the summer.
The English defender failed to make an impact this season, making just 14 appearances in the Premier League under Mikel Arteta. The manager prefers the combination of William Saliba and Gabriel.
It is the lowest number of appearances he has ever made since he joined the club in 2019, suggesting that his time is winding down at the club.
It seems as though plans to move Holding on are already in motion, with Turkish side Besiktas emerging as frontrunners to sign him.
The 27-year-old defender has held talks with the Turkish side about a loan move. Holding, who initially joined from Bolton Wanderers in 2016, is keen to secure first-team action after failing to get that last season.
Arsenal are already showing interest in signing Jurrien Timber, and they have submitted a second bid for the Dutch defender. It will be difficult for Rob Holding to get enough playing time next season.
With the likes of William Saliba, Gabriel Maghalhaes, and Ben White all ahead of Holding as it stands, his playing time in north London would be limited.
The 27-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract, but it’s thought that if he is loaned out by the club, he will also sign a contract extension.
