Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has been called to train with the England national team after Lewis Dunk was ruled out of the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Brighton defender Dunk, who was paired with Levi Colwill all season, missed Brighton’s last two matches due to injury and was withdrawn from the England squad.
No formal replacement has been identified by Gareth Southgate. The manager instead called the 20-year-old defender to train with them.
However, there is no assurance that he will make his debut for the Three Lions against Malta and North Macedonia.
After his stint with the first team, Colwill is likely to return to the England U-21 team. His calling was a reward for the player’s performance for the Brighton side.
Southgate still has John Stones, Harry Maguire, Marc Guehi, and Tyrone Mings.

Although John Stones wouldn’t be available for the encounter due to his party with Manchester City, who just won the triple.
Will Levi Colwill return to Chelsea?
The Chelsea football club has a lot of defenders. Thiago Silva, Kalidou Koulibaly, Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella, Reece James, Ben Chilwell, and many more.

It will be difficult for him to get into the Chelsea squad. It will be nice if he stays with Brighton, where he can play at least 20 matches in a season.
Brighton are interested in signing the English defender on a permanent deal, but Chelsea do not want to sell for a cheap price.
