Manchester United confirm Anthony Martial has not travelled with the squad to Seville

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has been ruled out of the match against Real Betis as Erik Ten Hag showed he was not ready to rush the player. 

The French striker will not travel with the squad to Seville for the second leg of the Europa League Round of 16, despite training with the squad at Carrington training ground.

Anthony Martial constant injuries have been an issue for him, and his Manchester United career so far has not been up to expectations. He is the main reason why the Red Devils signed Wout Weghorst from Beskitas.

The 27-year-old had only managed 14 appearances in all competitions this season.

Also, Antony was not seen in training today, and there are reports that he is down with illness and will not participate in the second leg against Real Betis. Antony scored a superb goal in the second half of the first leg.

Ten Hag  may start the youngster Facundo Pellistri in the second leg. The Uruguayan created an assist that led to the fourth goal of the match with an excellent skill.

Christian Eriksen, Garnacho, and Donny Van Deek are also out of the encounter with Real Betis. Casemiro will be available to play against Rep. Betis but will start in the domestic matches against Fulham in the FA Cup.

Marcel Sabitzer and Victor Lindelof, who missed Manchester United’s match against Southampton, will be available to face Real Betis. 

Nathan Bishop, Zidane Iqbal, and Kobbie Mainoo are training together with the first team, but they are not in the European squad.

Erik Ten Hag is looking forward to shuffling his squad ahead of the encounter in Spain. He has his eye on the FA Cup and would treat it like a Premier League match. 

Manchester United already have an advantage with a 4-1 win in the first leg. The manager may have the option of starting a very young squad. Harry Maguire will be bidding to get a chance to start in the heart of Manchester United’s defense.

In 2013/2014, while he was in Monaco, the winger sprained his ankle and was out for 35 days, missing five matches.

In the 2015-16 season, when the striker joined Manchester United at a teenage age, he had a hamstring injury and missed three matches.

In the 2016–17 season, the striker got a head injury and was out for seven days missing two matches in the process.
