The governorship candidate in Kano, who is with the NNPP, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has paid a visit to the Emir of Bichi ahead of the election in the state.
Kabir Yusuf had stated his intention of continuing to move the state towards its success and making it one of the most visited states in Nigeria.
The Emir of Bichi gave Kabir Yusuf a gracious welcome to his place, with his supporters and well-wishers coming in to pay homage to the king.
In the online polling conducted, it was seen that Kabir Yusuf is ahead of other presidential candidates contesting the election. Even on campaign ground, Kabir Yusuf had pulled millions of people.
He has also promised to end the issue of water scarcity in the state when he pays homage to the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero. Despite the large investment in water supply in the state, a lot of people in the rural areas are finding it difficult to get access to it.
The Emir of Kano has talked about the competency of Kabir Yusuf and is looking forward to his intelligence and ability to drive the state to success.
Five Things to Know About Kabir Yusuf
1. He contested the governorship election in 2019 under the PDP but failed to defeat Ganduje, the APC candidate.
2. Abba Kabir Yusuf was the commissioner of works, housing, and transportation from 2011–2015. His performance during his tenure was regarded as one of the best ever.
3. He went to Sumaila primary school and later to the government secondary school at Lautai. He graduated from secondary school in 1980. Yusuf did his NYSC from 1989 to 1990.
4. In 2019, the court dismissed his case after Kabir Yusuf took it upon himself to declare himself the winner of the governorship election in Kano.
