Tottenham Hotspur are looking forward to signing Englishman Marcus Edwards from Sporting Lisbon as they hope to boost their attacking options before the end of the season.

The London team is looking for a better replacement for Richarlison, who constantly goes on injury leave. So a formal bid may be lodged by Tottenham.

The transfer window opens today, and Marcus Edwards could be Antonio Conte’s first signing in the January transfer window.

Conte was quite impressed with his buzzing display and his ability to run to past opponent’s side.

Tottenham has taken the first step toward signing the creative winger by contacting his agent, Jorge Mendes, about a possible move.

The 24-year-old winger started his career at Tottenham, where he joined the club at the age of eight, but failure to break into the first team and limited playing chances made him move to Portugal.
