He was signed to replace Cudicini in 2004 for a record fee of 7 million Euro from Rennes, and he played an integral part in the squad that dominated the English premier league for 2 years. He is the goalkeeper with the highest clean sheet with the likes of John Terry and Carvalho. He only conceded only 15 goals in the 2005/2006 session.
